Spend Tuesdays this Fall with the Master's College honing your skills for success in graduate school. This series features topics of particular interest to graduate students aiming for excellence in scholarship and beyond. Taught by experts in the field, topics include research techniques, grant writing and review; resume building and interviewing skills and more. Grant Writing and Grant Review with Adam Kirkman and Bonnie Sultan

Planning on getting funded to continue your research or finance your education? Not sure where to begin? Join experts in the field to discuss how to prepare a grant and hear what reviewers are looking for in the approval process. Panelist Adam Kirkman is a grant writer for CARES, Inc, an Albany-based not-for-profit agency. In his position he oversees development of grant applications for five upstate New York Continuums. Adam will join Bonnie Sultan, a Federal Grant and Peer Reviewer with over five years experience, she has been a consultant to The Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Together these two grant professionals will bring real world knowledge of writing a successful grant.
Civic Engagement in New York City - Getting Involved and Giving Back

Ask not what your city can do for you--ask what you can do for your city. New York City is an amazing place to get involved serving a myriad of populations. Join representatives from New York Cares, Youth Challenge International, International Rescue Committee and others to discuss easy ways to get involved. They will explore ways to volunteer for a day, once a week, once a year and how to impact your community.
Master's College Program Board

Do you want to Volunteer for the 2009 GSAS Master’s Open House?
The Master’s College is looking for a few current master’s students who would like to serve as volunteers for the annual Master’s Open House for GSAS. The Open House is on November 2nd from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Kimmel Center. Discover the bounty of the Tamiment-Wagner Labor Archives, the Fales Library and Special Collections, and the New York University Archives at the Display of NYU Archival Treasures!
Stop in at any point to view selections from and learn about the archival collections at Bobst Library. The display will include historic photographs of NYU, yearbooks from the early 1900’s, art from the Downtown artists’ collection, historic cookbooks and NYU sports memorabilia. Open to all students, faculty and staff of NYU.
